Some suppliers may offer either ferrous brass rods that contain iron or non-ferrous brass rods that do not contain any significant amount of iron. Brass pipes commonly used nowadays in water services, refrigeration, instrumentation, hydraulic systems, grease, fuels, liquefied petroleum, and natural gas, do not easily corrode even when exposed to extreme moisture and air for a long time.
